An Ozone air cleaner is one of the most effective tools for cleaning your air, particularly if your goal is to rid your environment of odors. Ozone air purifiers do a wonderful job of eliminating the air of everything from pet odors left behind from the family pet to cigar smoke left still lingering around from poker night. Whatever odor lies in the wait for your guests, an ozone air purifier can probably rid your home of it. Ozone is extremely reactive and rarely finds an odor that it can’t take on and defeat.


Ozone - Not As Complicated As It Sounds

Ozone air purifiers work in a very simple manner. They are often called ozone generators because they make ozone and put it into the air.  An ozone generator takes regular air into the unit and then transforms it into ozone and pushes it back into the environment. The ozone then causes the chemical breakdown of many particles in the air. Luckily, many of the particles that simply can’t withstand the strength of ozone are those that are related to odors. Ozone simply overpowers these bacteria that cause odors and breaks them down into other less harmful products. These particles are also notably less smelly. The result is a completely refreshed room.


Moderation Is Key

Like many things in life, ozone air cleaners are far from perfect. It is important to read the manufacturers instructions in their use. For instance, most manufacturers recommend using the units on a low setting. This is because high levels of ozone are potentially harmful to our health. When used in moderation and exactly as the manufacturer recommends an ozone generator or cleaner can be a very effective method of revitalizing your environment. Remember, Ozone is a good thing, we’ve been trying to protect it for years. However, too much of a good thing can lead to bad results.
